The power of Light Therapy can effectively treat many skin concerns and Lumixa takes your usual LED treatment a big step further. The Lumixa gel uses innovative technology that’s activated under blue LED light, converting the blue light into Fluorescent Light Energy (FLE). With a blue light treatment, you can target one layer of the skin – the top layer. With Lumixa, the single blue light wavelength has been converted to multiple wavelengths and will reach deep into the layers of the skin.
Lumixa Light Therapy is suitable for all skin types and supports great skin health if you have a range of concerns. If you suffer from rosacea, general redness, dryness, flakey skin, sensitive skin, uneven skin texture, large pores, or are seeing general signs of ageing (like fine lines or loss of elasticity) then this treatment is for you. Treatment can be quick, with little to no downtime.
There are two types of Lumixa Light Therapy, and your expert technician can advise which is best for you.
Lumixa Skin Normaliser
Targets Inflammageing – Accelerated ageing in the skin due to inflammation such as rosacea, and general redness.
Lumixa Collagen Booster
Targets Chronoageing – Natural ageing which is ageing determined by a person’s genetic clock and the body’s ability to repair damage by free radicals like pollution.
Why choose Lumixa over standard LED light therapy?
While LED uses a single continuous light wavelength, Fluorescent Light Energy (FLE) covers a wide spectrum of wavelengths at the same time. LED delivers a blue light, and FLE generates green, yellow and red. FLE interacts with different parts of the epidermis (top layer of the skin) and dermis (the skin underneath the epidermis) reducing the signs of inflammageing skin and correcting intrinsic signs of ageing.
A stand-alone LED treatment provides amazing benefits, however Lumixa accelerates an LED treatment that one step further, providing even better results.
Are there any side effects with Lumixa?
There are very few side effects with Lumixa. In sensitive skin, mild erythema may be observed due to the heat. Clients may experience bronzing of the skin and darkening of freckles and sunspots, which dissipates after the treatment course.
Is Lumixa painful and is it safe?
Lumixa is totally safe! It’s a non-destructive, pain-free treatment. The gel remains on the skin surface and is not absorbed into the skin. Lumixa is non-photosensitising, so the treatment can be used all-year-round.
What is Inflammageing and Chronoageing?
Inflammageing: refers to a continuous, low-level and asymptomatic inflammatory process associated with ageing. This inflammatory response can gradually cause damage to skin tissues through dehydration, skin matrix weakening, collagen and elastin degradation, skin barrier impairment, and solar lentigo.
Chronoageing: is intrinsic ageing, it is mainly affected by things inside the body that you can’t see such as hormone levels and the makeup of your cells and proteins. Such ageing process includes diminished or defective synthesis of collagen and elastin in the dermis resulting in skin’s loss of volume, alteration of the skin texture and dry skin.
