How to prep for your pigmentation treatment

Without the blaring heat from the sun, there is no better time to treat hyperpigmentation. Whether it’s sunspots, acne scarring, or freckles, your pigmentation concerns can fade away… literally! Here are our favourite pigmentation treatments and how to prepare for them.

Pigmentation Peel

Our peels work by gently removing the damaged outer layer of your skin, which helps improve your skin’s tone and texture. Our medi-aesthetic peels are customised to you and can be particularly effective at treating concerns such as dullness, fine lines, congested skin, sun damage, acne, and pigmentation on the face. Not only can this peel help fade pigmentation, but minimise the appearance of pores, even out texture and tone, and reduce signs of ageing!

To best prepare for your Pigmentation Peel, it’s recommended to be using the Balense Skin Resurfacing Cleanser, Brightening Serum Concentrate, Antioxidant Lift FX Serum, or Retinol Renewal Serum Concentrate and the UV Defiance SPF 50+ at least four weeks prior to your appointment. Two weeks before your appointment, any usage of topical prescription retinol/whitening/steroidal creams must also be stopped. There also must not be any active cold sores and no waxing, laser, or IPL in the area of treatment. Three days prior to your appointment there must be no recent sun exposure or sunbed usage and any usage of cosmeceutical retinol or AHA/BHA products must be stopped. 48 hours before your treatment, you must not have received any cosmetic injections in the treatment area and ensure your skin is well-hydrated as peels cannot be applied to dehydrated skin.

Laser for pigmentation

Our laser for pigmentation treatment uses our latest laser technology to help reduce pigmentation concerns on both the face and the body! These concerns can include dark spots, blotches, freckles, and trauma-pigmentation that may have occurred on the skin. The lasers first target then fragments the selected imperfection, without damaging the surrounding tissue. Targeted areas can gradually fade over three to seven days.
