The Causes of Stretch Marks

Stretch marks, or striae, occur during a period of rapid growth, such as adolescence or pregnancy. When new they appear red or purple, and fade to pale silver over time due to atrophy and pigmentation loss.

While very common and completely normal, not everyone wants to hang onto them. If your stretch marks affect your confidence, there is a range of treatments on offer that can help them fade.
