Anti-Wrinkle Injections – FAQ’s answered!

Anti-wrinkle injection treatments have been growing in popularity over the years, for both men and women alike.

They are often used as a preventative treatment, helping to smooth fine lines and wrinkles to help refine your overall look. They can be a quick and effective way to ‘stop the clock’ and boost confidence levels. Almost sounds too good to be true, right? To help bring more clarity around this treatment, we’ve answered some of your most frequently asked questions below.

How do they work?

Anti-wrinkle injectables works by blocking the chemical signal that the brain sends to the muscle telling the muscle to contract. In effect, this can help relax and lift the muscle which can soften the look of lines to give a tighter and smoother appearance.

When will I see the results?

Generally, it can take around three to ten days after the treatment for maximum results to fully develop. Re-treatment should not occur within that period!

How much can I get?

Anti-wrinkle injections are done in units, which will vary from client to client based on what concern they are wanting to treat. We offer clients a free consultation so if you’re thinking about getting anti-wrinkle injections, come and see us as we can discuss exactly what you’re after and what will work for you.

How long do they last?

The effect of anti-wrinkle injections can last up to four months, although with regular treatments it may be possible to reduce the dosage.

Can you get anti-wrinkle injections while pregnant?

At The Cosmetic Clinic, your safety is our highest priority. So, you cannot receive injectables if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Can you treat multiple areas in the same session?

Yes you can! Your cosmetic injector will discuss this with you during your consultation. Just let them know what you’re looking for and they can advise based on safety and medical best-practice.

What areas can I treat?

The most common areas for anti-wrinkle injections that we treat are crow’s feet (lines around the outer eyes), glabella or frown lines (between the eyes) and the forehead. Other areas including ‘bunny lines’ (lines on the nose), jaw-line, chin and neck may also be treated. At The Cosmetic Clinic, we have experienced practitioners who treat even the most complex areas. These injections can even be used to treat excessive sweating and jaw grinding.
