Beauty Buzzwords

Inflammaging, pre-juvenation and more… every year there are new buzzwords, and we are here to keep you on top of the latest terms to emerge in the beauty and skincare world.
At The Cosmetic Clinic we love expanding our beauty vocabulary. How many of our favourite new buzzwords in beauty do you know?

Inflammaging:

Definition – Inflammaging is essentially inflammation that causes harm to the skin and speeds up the skins ageing process. Inflammaging can be caused by common skin concerns such as acne and rosacea.

Depending on your skin concern and the severity of it, there are multiple treatments that might be right for you, two of which are LED Light Therapy and Lumixa Light Therapy.

Chronoageing:

Definition – Chronoageing is the typical ageing process that everyone chronologically goes through. Over time, everyone deals with ageing through things we can’t see – hormones and the makeup of our cells and proteins. Chronoaging is this ageing process.

This is completely normal and natural, however there are ways you can reduce the appearance of ageing through skincare products and treatments.

There are many skin and injectable treatments to support looking and feeling our absolute best as we age, including anti-wrinkle injections, Lumixa Light Therapy or micro-needling.

Pre-juvenation:

Definition –Pre-juvenation is ageing prevention. We’ve all heard about skin rejuvenation –reverse the signs of ageing but what we should all be talking about is pre-juvenation and looking after our skin before it needs rejuvenating. Start taking care of your skin early to prevent signs of ageing.

There are many ways you can start your pre-juvenation journey

–       Starting small: add a simple retinol serum to your skincare routine (the Balense Retinol Serum is a great one if you’re new to cosmeceutical skincare).

–       Next step: Our Micro-Needling and Ageless peel treatments are ideal for keeping your skin youthful.

–       Preventatives: We have a range of injectables treatments that can help prevent signs of ageing such as anti-wrinkle injections.

Skinimalist:

Definition – This is a personal favourite of ours! Skinimalist refers to those who have a simple skincare routine. Instead of spending hours doing your skincare routine, we believe in making skincare easy for everyone. All you really need is a good cleanser, serum, moisturiser, and SPF!

Balense skincare has the perfect skincare packs for the skinimalist! They come with 4 simple steps which are tailored to different skin concerns.
