Laser Hair Removal

Pre-treatment preparation

Please shave the area to be treated within 12 hours of your appointment.

The area should be free from moisturisers and makeup.

Please do not:

  • Wax, pluck, thread, bleach or use hair removal cream on the treatment area within two weeks of treatment
  • Use Retinol (vitamin A) or Hydroquinone (whitening creams) in the two weeks prior to treatment

Note – we will be unable to perform your treatment if you have a sunburn or any kind of tan (spray tan, self-tanning creams, natural tan or sunbed) on the treatment area.

First appointment

Before your first treatment you will have a quick, 15-minute consultation with your laser technician to assess your hair and skin type, suitability for treatment and to advise you on how to best prepare your skin for laser hair removal.

If you would like to have your first treatment immediately following this consultation, that can usually be arranged – please follow the pre-treatment guidelines above if this is the case.

  • Any redness or sensitivity of the treated area can be calmed with cool water, cold packs and Balense Recovery Cream.
  • A sunscreen of at least SPF 30+ should be applied throughout the day for at least one week following treatment.
  • Avoid shaving, waxing or plucking hair, exfoliation, excessive sweating or hot showers for 24 hours.
  • Sun exposure and sunbeds should be avoided for at least one week following treatment – the area will be especially vulnerable to sunburn and pigmentation.
  • From five days post-treatment, you may gently exfoliate using Balense Microdermal Cleansing Scrub.
