Microdermabrasion, Dermaplaning & Peels

PRE-TREATMENT PREPARATION

48 HOURS PRIOR
No cosmetic injections in the treatment area

3 DAYS PRIOR
No recent sun exposure and sunbeds
Stop using cosmeceutical retinol and AHA/BHA

5 DAYS PRIOR (DERMAPLANING ONLY)
You cannot be taking certain medications e.g. Roaccutane.
Please consult with your GP & your treating therapist before the treatment.

2 WEEKS PRIOR
Topical prescription retinol/whitening/steroidal creams must be stopped.
Must not have an active cold sore.
No waxing, laser or IPL in the area.
You cannot be taking medication that contains Isotretinoin. If you have taken Accutane, or any other acne drug, microdermabrasion and peels should be avoided for six months after use has ceased
Please tell your therapist if you are pregnant or breastfeeding

POST TREATMENT CARE

12 HOURS POST
Do not pick the skin as this could lead to hyper/hypopigmentation or scarring
Jessner Peel ONLY – Avoid ice and water (showers) on the treated area

24 HOURS POST
Keep cool
Keep hydrated, increase water intake to 8 glasses per day
Avoid steam, saunas and spa pools
Avoid exercise and swimming
Avoid any activities that would cause excessive perspiration

1-5 DAYS POST
Use prescribed Balense or Aesthetic Rx homecare and SPF50+ sunscreen

5 DAYS POST
Resume post treatment routine with personalised prescription of of Balense or Aesthetics Rx skincare
Gently exfoliate using Balense or Aesthetics Rx exfoliator

7 DAYS POST
Jessner Peel ONLY – use the gentle post care for 7 days & resume with personalised prescription of Balense or Aesthetics Rx skincare

PRE-TREATMENT PREPARATION

1 WEEK PRIOR

No Anti-wrinkle, Profhilo, or PRP injections in the treatment area. No waxing, laser, or IPL in the area.

2 WEEKS PRIOR

No Dermal Fillers in the treatment area. Must not have active cold sores. No preparation with active home care is needed.

4 WEEKS PRIOR

No PDO Threads in the treatment area.

POST TREATMENT CARE

24 HOURS POST

Keep cool
Keep hydrated, increase water intake to 8 glasses per day
Avoid steam, saunas, and spa pools
Avoid exercise and swimming
Avoid any activities that would cause excessive perspiration

1-5 DAYS POST

Continue with prescribed Balense or AestheticsRx homecare and SPF50+ sunscreen.
Avoid us of cosmeceutical retinol. Avoid exfoliation.

5 DAYS POST

Gently exfoliate using Balense or ARX Exfoliating cleanser or Enzyme Mask.

Micro-Needling

Depigmentation Peels

PRE-TREATMENT PREPARATION

48 HOURS PRIOR
No cosmetic injections in the treatment area
Peels cannot be applied to dehydrated skin

Cosmelan Peel – Stop the use of the Priming Brightening Peel Booster.

3 DAYS PRIOR
No recent sun exposure and sunbeds
Stop using cosmeceutical retinol and AHA/BHA

2 WEEKS PRIOR
Topical prescription retinol / whitening / steroidal creams must be stopped two weeks prior
Must not have an active cold sore
No waxing, laser or IPL in the area

4 WEEKS PRIOR

Cosmelan Peel – The following prepping products must be used: Priming Brightening Peel Booster and the following Balense (or approved equivalent) products: Skin Resurfacing Cleanser, Normal/Dry/Oily/Brightning Skin Moisturiser and UV Defiance SPF 50+ sunscreen

POST TREATMENT CARE

IMMEDIATELY POST TREATMENT
Cosmelan Peel – The Cosmelan 1 treatment mask applied in clinic, is to be left on the skin for a minimum of 8-12 hours and as directed by the technician. The Cosmelan 1 mask should be kept moist with the atomiser water spritz. Apply an even layer of Hydra-Vital Mask for 10-20 minutes.

12 HOURS POST
Do not pick the skin as this could lead to hyper/hypopigmentation or scarring

Cosmelan Peel – On completion of application time, remove Cosmelan 1 mask with warm water and use prescribed products.

24 HOURS POST
Keep cool
Keep hydrated, increase water intake to 8 glasses per day
Avoid steam, saunas and spa pools
Avoid exercise and swimming
Avoid any activities that would cause excessive perspiration

Cosmelan Peel  –
Only the prescribed Mesoestetic homecare is to be used as directed by your technician
Avoid sun exposure and sunbeds up to 2 weeks
No cosmetic injectable treatments for 8 weeks
Avoid any other skin treatments/peels for up to 4 months
Avoid any laser treatments for 7 months

3 DAYS POST
Cosmelan Peel  – In-clinic review appointment, Observ Skin Analysis progress photos and in-clinic LED 830nm treatment. (Included in Cosmelan® Pigmentation Program). Optional Upgrade LED 830nm treatment. Can be conducted in-clinic weekly to further improve skin recovery and results.

12 WEEKS POST
At 12 weeks your initial homecare will be running low, be prepared to repurchase the required home maintenance pack. Skin renewal process will continue for 4-6 weeks post treatment. Prescribed home care should be followed for 7 months post treatment.

Laser for Pigmentation and Rejuvenation

PRE-TREATMENT PREPARATION

48 HOURS PRIOR
No cosmetic injections in the treatment area
No numbing cream to be applied to the treatment area

3 DAYS PRIOR
Stop using cosmeceutical retinol and AHA/BHA

2 WEEKS PRIOR
Topical prescription retinol / whitening/ steroidal creams must be stopped two weeks prior
Must not have an active cold sore
No waxing, laser, threading, tweezing or IPL in the area
No fake tan
No recent sun exposure and sunbeds

2-4 WEEKS PRIOR
Laser for Pigmentation only – You must ensure to use the prescribed skin care regime of Balense products prescribed by your technician, to ensure your skin is prepared for treatment

We cannot treat if you are;
Pregnant or breastfeeding
Taking medication that contains Isotretinoin. If you have taken Accutane, or any other acne drug, laser should be avoided for six months after use has ceased
We cannot treat over metal plates or pins

POST TREATMENT CARE

IMMEDIATELY POST TREATMENT
Apply the recommended Balense Recovery Cream as required
Use Balense UV Defiance SPF 50+

12 HOURS POST

Gently exfoliate using prescribed Balense or Aesthetics Rx exfoliator.

7 DAYS POST
Do not apply any topical prescription creams to the treated area for 7 days
No cosmetic injectable treatments for 4 weeks post treatment
Avoid sun exposure and sunbeds

PRE-TREATMENT PREPARATION

You must ensure to use the prescribed skin care regime of Balense products prescribed by your technician, to ensure your skin is prepared for treatment

PRE-TREATMENT PREPARATION

No photo sensitizing medications
No recent sun exposure or sunburn

Please advise Technician if you:
Are pregnant
Are taking any steroid medication
Have photo sensitive eczema or metabolic disorders & autoimmune diseases, which can give light‐ induced rashes e.g. Lupus & Porphyria
Have epilepsy or if you are claustrophobic

POST TREATMENT CARE

IMMEDIATELY POST TREATMENT
Apply the recommended Balense or Aesthetics Rx post treatment homecare as required
Use Balense or Aesthetics Rx SPF 50+ sunscreen

12 HOURS POST
Resume with personalised prescription of Balense or Aesthetics Rx homecare. Balense or Aesthetics Rx SPF50+ sunscreen should be worn every day

Lumixa Light Therapy

PRE-TREATMENT PREPARATION

2 WEEKS PRIOR
Topical prescription retinol must be stopped two weeks prior

If you are/have taken Accutane, or any other acne drug, you must stop use 6 months prior to treatment

No preparation on active homecare is needed.
