How It Works
Ingredients such as Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs), Beta Hydroxy Acids (BHAs), or enzymes break down the bonds between dead skin cells, allowing them to shed more effectively and stimulate the skin’s natural regeneration process.

To ensure safety and maximise results, skin must be prepped with a Tyrosinase inhibitor for at least two weeks prior to treatment. We highly recommend our Aesthetics Rx Ultimate Serum for a minimum of 2 weeks.

48 Hours Prior
- No cosmetic injections in the treatment area.
3 Days Prior
- No recent sun exposure and sunbeds.
- Stop using cosmeceutical retinol and AHA/BHA.
2 Weeks Prior
- Topical prescription retinol/whitening/steroidal creams must be stopped.
- Must not have an active cold sore.
- No waxing, laser or IPL in the area.
- Apply the recommended preparation skincare products to strengthen & hydrate the skin reducing the risk of adverse reactions, such as irritation, inflammation & hyperpigmentation
- You cannot be taking medication that contains Isotretinoin. If you have taken Accutane, or any other acne drug, microdermabrasion and peels should be avoided for six months after use has ceased.
- Please tell your therapist if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
MediPeel Skincare Preparation

12 Hours Post
- Do not pick the skin as this could lead to hyper/hypopigmentation or scarring.
- Avoid ice and water (showers) on the treated area.
24 Hours Post
- Keep cool.
- Keep hydrated, increase water intake to 8 glasses per day.
- Avoid steam, saunas and spa pools.
- Avoid exercise and swimming.
- Avoid any activities that would cause excessive perspiration.
1-5 Days Post
- Apply the recommended Balense Bouncee Repair Cleanser and Herbi Recovery Face Cream to Cream to calm and hydrate the skin and SPF50+ sunscreen.
5 Days Post
- Resume post treatment routine with personalised prescription of Balense or Aesthetics Rx skincare.
- Gently exfoliate using Balense or Aesthetics Rx exfoliator.
7 Days Post
- Use the gentle post care for 7 days & resume with personalised prescription of Balense or Aesthetics Rx skincare.
MediPeel FAQs
How long does treatment take?
The treatment takes approximately 30 minutes, depending on the skin concerns being treated, can easily be done during your lunch breaks!
What conditions cannot be treated?
We will not treat overactive sores (herpes simplex virus). If you have been prescribed medication, please inform your technician prior to the treatment of the medication you are taking. Our MediPeels are not offered during pregnancy except for Ethe Refine and Enzyme MediPeel. If you have sun exposure in the 2 weeks prior to treatment we will need to postpone your treatment.
Is there any downtime?
Initially, the treated area is red due to increased circulation but will generally fade within a few hours. Exfoliation and peeling with some of the peels are common a few days after treatment but will decrease once multiple treatments have been performed and the area is in better condition. If breakouts or damaged skin have been treated, the area may be red and could scab lasting approximately 5-7 days with no residual scarring. Mineral makeup can be applied to the area immediately after treatment, to ensure you can get back to your day without any interruption

Can I get a MediPeel if I am Pregnant or Breastfeeding?
MediPeels that contain Salicylic Acid & Vitamin A are not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, therefore our Clear, Clear Pro and Rejuvenate Pro MediPeels are not suitable.
