Remove the mask at home. Expect moderate redness (erythema) and heat – this is normal. Redness is your skin’s natural response to the treatment and indicates the skin is starting to renew itself.

Start your aftercare routine. Expect moderate redness, heat, and swelling – all of which are common signs of the skin’s healing process. You might feel like your skin is warm or flushed, which is a sign that it’s reacting to the treatment and starting to recover.

Expect strong redness, moderate heat, swelling, and itching, with mild flaking. This is part of the skin’s renewal process, where the skin sheds old, pigmented layers and rejuvenates.

Mild redness, heat, strong itching, and flaking. Your skin will be actively shedding as it heals. Visit the clinic for your first skin review and LED treatment.

Visit the clinic for a 7-day post-treatment review. You will start to incorporate Cosmelan 2 Cream into your skincare routine.

Expect mild redness, moderate itching, and flaking. The second phase of the Cosmelan program begins, with Cosmelan 2 to be applied twice daily (AM & PM) for 6 months. We recommend weekly LED treatments in the clinic. You may need to purchase additional aftercare products to maintain results.

You may notice an increase in pigmentation during months 1, 2, and 3, known as a “pigmentation spike,” where the pigment rises from deeper layers of skin to the surface.

Once the 6-month Cosmelan program is completed, continue with a tyrosinase inhibitor and SPF 50+ to maintain your results. We recommend the AestheticsRx Ultimate Serum and/or the Mesoestetic Cosmelan 2 Cream for ongoing maintenance.

• Visible changes will be noticed throughout, but true results will appear after 6 months. We recommend a yearly treatment to maintain results.

• On completion of application time, remove Cosmelan 1 mask with warm water and use prescribed Mesoestetic products as directed by your technician. Immediately after mask removal it is normal to experience moderate redness (erythema) and heat.
• Do not pick the skin as this could lead to hyper/hypopigmentation or scarring.

• You may begin to experience moderate redness, intense heat, and moderate swelling.
• Keep cool.
• Keep hydrated, increase water intake to 8 glasses per day.
• Avoid steam, saunas and spa pools.
• Avoid exercise and swimming.
• Avoid any activities that would cause excessive perspiration.
• Avoid sun exposure and sunbeds.
• The prescribed Mesoestetic homecare is to be used as directed by your technician.

• Mild redness and heat, strong itching, and flaking may occur.
• In-clinic review appointment – Includes Observ Skin Analysis progress photos and in-clinic LED 830nm treatment (Included in Cosmelan® Depigmentation Program). To reduce continued skin redness & sensitivity, we recommend an upgrade to our LED Light Therapy Rejuvenation Package ($890) includes 10 x LED Treatments. LED treatments can be conducted in-clinic weekly to further improve skin recovery and results.
• The skin renewal process can continue for 4-6 weeks post treatment.

• Avoid Anti-Wrinkle Cosmetic Injectables.

• At 3 months, your initial homecare will be running low, be prepared to repurchase the required home maintenance pack. The prescribed Mesoestetic home care should be followed for 6 months post treatment as directed by your technician.
• Avoid Dermal Filler/Profhilo Cosmetic Injectables for 3 months post treatment.
• Avoid any laser treatments for 4 months.
• Avoid Threads/PRP Injectables for 6 months.
• Avoid advanced skin treatments i.e. needling, peels, dermaplaning, microdermabrasion, for 6 months.

• After completion of the 6 Month Cosmelan Program, you will need to continue to use a tyrosinase inhibitor i.e. ARx Ultimate Serum, and SPF 50+ to maintain your results. You can also introduce ARx A Serum at night to further maintain your results. For more stubborn pigment like Melasma, you may need to repurchase and continue to use the Cosmelan 2 Cream morning and/or night for maintenance.
