48 Hours Prior
- No cosmetic injections in the treatment area.
- No numbing cream to be applied to the treatment area.
3 Days Prior
- Stop using cosmeceutical retinol and AHA/BHA.
2 Weeks Prior
- Topical prescription retinol / whitening/ steroidal creams must be stopped two weeks prior.
- Must not have an active cold sore.
- No waxing, laser, threading, tweezing or IPL in the area.
- No fake tan.
- No recent sun exposure and sunbeds.
You must ensure to apply the recommended Balense &/ Aesthetics Rx Skincare products to strengthen & hydrate the skin reducing the risk of adverse reactions, such as irritation, inflammation & hyperpigmentation prescribed by your therapists.
Immediately Post Treatment
- Apply the recommended Balense Jelli Recovery Laser Gel as required.
- Use Balense UV Defiance SPF 50+.
12 Hours Post
- Do not pick the skin as this could lead to hyper/hypopigmentation or scarring.
24 Hours Post
- Keep cool.
- Keep hydrated, increase water intake to 8 glasses per day.
- Avoid steam, saunas and spa pools.
- Avoid exercise and swimming.
- Avoid any activities that would cause excessive perspiration.
1-3 Days Post
- Use Balense Bouncee Repair Cleanser, recommended Balense Jelli Recovery Laser Gel to help reduce redness, inflammation & heat that remains in the skin, and UV Defiance SPF 50+.
5 Days Post
- Post treatment resume with personalised prescription of Balense homecare.
- Gently exfoliate using Balense Enzy Repair Exfoliant.
7 Days Post
- Do not apply any topical prescription creams to the treated area for 7 days.
- No cosmetic injectable treatments for 4 weeks post treatment.
- Avoid sun exposure and sunbeds.

How many treatments will I need?
The number of required treatments will vary depending on the type and location of the vascular lesion. Broken capillaries on the facial area (usually on the cheeks, chin, and around the nose), will usually require 1-2 treatments done at 6 weekly intervals
When will I start seeing results?
Once treated, blood vessels can take 14-30 days to clear
Is there any downtime?
After treatment, it’s common to experience redness, swelling, and mild discomfort. The treated areas may also darken and form scabs, which can last for 2-4 weeks. Following proper at-home aftercare will help minimise these side effects.
