How It Works

Dermal fillers are smooth, gel-based injectables used to enhance facial contours, restore lost volume, and smooth fine lines or deep creases. While commonly used to address age-related volume loss, fillers can also refine facial features, enhance lips, sculpt the jawline, or correct asymmetry.

Whether you’re looking to rejuvenate your appearance or add definition to certain areas, fillers provide a non-surgical option for natural-looking results.

Dermal Filler FAQs

How much filler will I need?

The amount of filler required will depend on the extent of volume loss and the areas being treated. Our skilled medical professionals will assess your needs and customise the treatment plan accordingly to achieve natural-looking results.

How long do dermal fillers last?

The longevity of dermal fillers varies depending on the type of filler used, the area treated, and individual factors like metabolism. Most fillers last between 6 months to 2 years before being gradually absorbed by the body. Maintenance treatments are required to sustain results.

Will treatment leave me looking unnatural or overdone?

When administered by a skilled and experienced injector, dermal fillers can provide subtle, natural-looking results. The goal is to restore balance and volume without making drastic changes to your appearance, so the results should enhance your natural features, not create an artificial look.

Does the treatment hurt?

Most dermal filler treatments involve minimal discomfort. Many fillers contain a local anaesthetic, and your experienced nurse may apply a topical numbing cream to ensure you are comfortable during the procedure.

Are there any contraindications for dermal filler treatments?

Yes, you may not be suitable for dermal fillers if you have any of the following:

  • Previous allergic reaction to dermal fillers or any of their components (e.g., lidocaine, hyaluronic acid)
  • History of anaphylaxis to bee or wasp stings
  • Active skin infections or inflammation near the treatment area
  • History of permanent fillers or facial implants
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding (treatment only after 6 weeks cessation)
  • History of keloid or hypertrophic scarring
  • Unstable autoimmune disorders
  • Recent cough, cold, flu, or infection (2–3 week waiting period recommended)
  • Recent dental procedures (within 4 weeks of treatment)
  • Recent vaccinations (within 2 weeks of treatment)
Are there any side effects?

Side effects are generally mild and temporary. These may include swelling, bruising, or redness at the injection sites. Any side effects typically resolve within a few days.
