Refining Mousse Cleanser

Gently cleanses without drying or irritating the surface of the skin

This product is Sulphate free, making it a cleaner, greener skincare product. The surfactants used come from coconut and are soap and detergent free. Sodium lauroyl sarcosinate is the key surfactant in this product, like sodium lauryl sulphate, it is a cleansing and foaming agent, but that is the only thing these ingredients have in common. Sodium lauroyl sarcosinate is derived from an amino acid (sacrcosine) that occurs naturally in the body, we use a version that comes from coconuts. We use it this ingredient because it deeply cleanses the skin without any irritation. It is lipophilic, meaning it works by attracting excess oil and dirt; impurities are lifted and washed away gently.

Improves skin tone, elasticity and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles

The epidermis is the outer layer of our skin. Underneath the five layers of the epidermis is the dermis, which provides oxygen and nutrients necessary for maintaining the epidermis. The site where the epidermis and dermis meet is known as the dermal epidermal junction (DEJ). The health of the DEJ is important for communication that occurs between the two skin layers, playing a role in numerous processes including cellular differentiation, proliferation migration (regeneration) and repair. The DEJ is also involved in immune system responses such as the inflammatory response mechanism, which is triggered via chemical signals relayed across the DEJ. The fermented yeast extract used in Aesthetics Rx® Refining Mousse Cleanser is intended to improve the integrity of the DEJ by increasing the synthesis of its components, particularly collagen IV and VII. This improves the overall appearance of the complexion by increasing tone and elasticity, therefore decreasing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and helping combat the appearance of enlarged pores.

Decongests and improves the appearance of break out prone skin

Once the topical Salicylic acid (a BHA) used in this product is absorbed into the skins follicles (pores) it effectively loosens some of the desmosomes that connect keratinocytes (skin cells) therefore helping to keep the pores clear. In contrast to AHA’s which have larger molecular structure and work mostly on the surface of the skin, Salicylic acid can be absorbed where it can get to work to decongest the skin deeper down. Salicylic acid effectively combats acne and breakouts because of its ability to reduce and regulate sebum secretion. Its astringent properties assist in refining the appearance of enlarged pores.

May be used morning and/or evening.

Aesthetics Rx always recommends a double cleansing regime; this product may be used alone or in conjunction with any other cleanser in the Aesthetics Rx range. (E.g., Anti-Pollution Cleansing Oil for the first cleanse to remove makeup and surface impurities. Second cleanse with Refining Mousse Cleanser to balance excess oil, brighten and refine skin texture.)

Dispense one pump of Refining Mousse Cleanser into the palms and gently smooth over the face and neck. Lightly massage in a circular motion, then rinse with warm water and Aesthetics Rx Microfibre Face Pads. Repeat for perfectly balanced, clean skin.

Not intended for use around the delicate eye contour.

Avoid direct contact with eyes. If discomfort occurs, rinse with warm water. For external use only.

Key Active Ingredients:

Salicylic Acid 2% – A beta hydroxy acid (BHA) that belongs to the salicylates class of drugs (Contraindicated for aspirin allergies). Its oil solubility and molecular structure allows the ingredient to be readily absorbed where it helps to dissolve excess sebum and debris that clogs the skin. It acts as an anti-inflammatory ingredient, reducing redness and irritation in breakout prone skin.

Lactic Acid 5% (biotechnology derived) – An alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that works on the superficial layer of the skin to brighten and combat dullness, smooth the appearance of the skin, helping to improve the appearance of firmness and skin tone.

Fermented Yeast Extract (biotechnology derived) – used to target the dermal epidermal junction (DEJ) and improve the overall appearance, tone, and elasticity of the epidermis. The specific peptide sequence isolated from fermented yeast works to increase the production of collagens IV and VII at the DEJ.

Davidson Plum Extract – contains compounds of Gallic acid, Ellagic acid, Quercetin, organic Amino acids, sugars, and Anthocyanin. The synergy of these powerful compounds delivers natural solutions to reducing UV damage, brightening, acne prone skin, loss of elasticity, inflammation, and free radical damage.

Tasmanian Blue Gum Extract – contains phytocompounds that support anti-glycation, collagen and elastin and an improvement in the appearance of breakouts associated with acne prone skin.

Hemp seed oil – helps maintain skins barrier, reduces redness, soothes visible inflammation, and restores skin comfort.
